Shaya Roth Architects was established in 2016 in the heart of Jerusalem, situated on the border between the Old City and the New City. The firm was founded by Shaya Roth, a graduate of the Architecture Department at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design (2009). Shaya brings extensive experience from both the public and private sectors. The studio operates across multiple disciplines and scales: Building Documentation & Conservation Surveys, Urban Planning, Public and Residential Buildings, and Meticulous Interior Design. Our team strives to trace the history of the local space, using this knowledge as a foundation to design and envision our future here.
The comprehensive documentation files and conservation surveys conducted by our firm - stretching from the Negev to the Galilee -provide a broad perspective on the local building heritage of all populations living here. The documentation process begins with extensive historical and archival research, moves through fieldwork and engagement with local residents, and concludes with the editing and writing of the files and surveys. We emphasize aesthetic and communicative editing alongside deep, comprehensive content.
Every documentation or survey project sheds light on a different aspect of local architecture, sometimes down to the smallest detail. Our conservation work engages with diverse places and populations, and is commissioned by construction and real estate developers, municipalities and authorities, architects and planners, families and communities, as well as Jewish and Arab organizations.
Our planning work stems from a deep passion for the specific cultural context, a love for local materials, and a dialogue with real people—whether the project involves the conservation of a historic site (preceded by a documentation process) or the creation of an entirely new structure. The scope of the firm's work is diverse, encompassing: Master Plans (Outline Schemes), Public Buildings, Private Houses and Residential Apartments. We would be delighted to work with you and plan your next space, whether it is a residential apartment, a classroom, or a neighborhood square.
